Chicago Med is an American medical drama television series created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead as the second spin-off of the original series, Chicago Fire.

The series premiered on November 17, 2015 on NBC. Chicago Med was approved for a second series, which premiered on September 22, 2016.


The show primarily focuses on the staff of the emergency department within the Chicago Medical Center. The professional and personal lives of doctors, nurses and other medical staff in this series is the main plot, which at times often intertwines with the other Chicago series'.
