Chicago Fire is an American action-drama television series that airs on NBC. The series was created by Michael BrandtDerek Haaswith with Dick Wolf serving as an executive producer.

Chicago Fire originally premiered on October 10, 2012. The show follows the lives of the firefighters and paramedics assigned at Firehouse 51.

On March 27, 2013, NBC announced plans for a spin-off of Chicago Fire. NBC authorised the procedural spin-off series which is now known as Chicago PD, which premiered on January 8, 2014.


Chicago Fire explores the lives, both professional and personal of the firefighters and paramedics of the Chicago Fire Department. More specifically the lives of the members of Firehouse 51; home of Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61 and Battalion 25.
